Forces of Nature v2.0 is a custom-built visual instrument for the creation and display of software-defined kinetic liquid sculpture. Harnessing the forces of electomagnetism, fluid dynamics, gravity, as well as multiple layers of controlling software, an array of high-energy electromagnets controlled live by the artist project an animated electromagnetic field through a vessel containing ferrofluid, thereby visualizing the generated magnetic field over time as an animated visual sequence of patterns and movements in ferrofluid. Building upon this instrument is Timing, a story to be told using this most magnetic of media.
